Vox|Optima Awarded Media Training Contract in Turkey
ALBUQERQUE, N.M. – Vox|Optima, LLC has been selected by the U.S. Air Force to provide media training to officials assigned to Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. This single-award contract will be performed at Incirlik Air Base in July.
Mark McDonald, Vox|Optima’s Western Region director, will conduct the multilevel media training in three sessions to airmen stationed in Turkey. McDonald served as the media point of contact and led all media support and training for the U.S. Pacific Fleet’s response to the 2004 tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia.
“Our military people have great things to say,” McDonald said. “From personal experience, I’ve seen them perform as great public representatives for their services and our country, especially when they’ve developed the confidence to speak to the media.”
Vox|Optima’s media training is geared toward providing military personnel with the confidence and skills necessary to be effective media spokespersons while stationed in foreign assignments. Given Turkey’s seismic position geographically, McDonald’s media training will also focus on crisis communications.
“You never know when crisis will strike,” McDonald said. “Organizations prepared for the media are much more adept at responding to the eventual media onslaught. Our crisis communication training forces organizations to take a look at themselves, including their actions, culture and values, so they can see how outsiders view them before even before a crisis occurs.”
