USS Barry leaves Washington Shipyard on Final Voyage

What a sight!  Enjoyed this assignment on May 7, 2016.  We were aboard a Bell 412 as Tugboats prepared to tow Former USS Barry (DD 93) down the Anacostia River to Philadelphia for scrapping. Barry was a Display ship moored at the Washington Navy Yard since 1984. Named for Commodore John Barry, the ship was decommissioned in 1982.  (U.S. Navy Photos by Scott Adam Webb/Released)

Commemorating the USS Barry (DD933)

Big changes at the Washington Navy Yard.  The USS Barry will depart Saturday. Vox Optima produced this History of Shipbuilding video for Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to commemorate the event.
